Covering Lowender Kernewek at South Australia May 1999, I spoke with Cornish language teacher Lillian James. She told me of the time she gave a speech in Cornish. In the audience was Pol Hodge (Lillian's mentor). After the speech she asked Pol what he thought of her Kernewek.

He replied, "Oh, I thought your Cornish was excellent. It was your english I had trouble understanding."
